3D Lotus
Posted by Ritz | Filed under 3D works, Design, Logo Design
This is a recent project I finished for a company. I was asked to design an orange 3D lotus for a logo, with a semi-realistic look. Below are a couple of images of the final version. This was rendered using Mental Ray in Maya. I used a very simple ramp shader network to apply the colors and give it a nice smooth touch.

3D Earth Rendered in Maya

Here is just something I did for fun, thought it might be good to have for my 3D library of objects. I plan to do more planets in the coming weeks. Below is a rendered and a wireframe version with a color, bump and specular map. I also have a night version of the Earth, which I might post up at some point.

Wooden Wall

So, the wooden wall for the game went through a few changes. Below is the final untextured render of the wooden wall, which will be used as a weak fort wall built by villagers. This is why the irregularity and imperfection in the structure.

This is a wireframe view, in case I failed to mention in my previous posts, these will be used as pre-rendered images and not real-time graphics, so I don’t need to worry about the polygon count and texture map sizes at all.

Below is the initial version of the wall, which wasn’t that great so it went through some changes.

Feudal Empires - House Renders

So, I figured why not try a render of the house without the texture.

And then I just got carried away, here, an Ambient Occlusion pass!

Feudal Empires - Medieval House (work in progress)

So, I am also working on some 3D assets for Jonathan’s game called Feudal Empires. This house is supposed to be very Medieval looking, so, when modeling, I went for a very imperfect look. This is still a work in progress and I am going to change it a bit and then comes the fun UV layout part… don’t we all love that!
